There is always more than one side to a story, and in Draco Malfoy's case, one side changes everything. Draco and Hermione form a bond before their first year at Hogwarts that carries on through their passing years. There are two things it has always been: love and secret.

While everyone believes these two are opposites in every way - blood, houses, side of the war - they share so much in common. They both know the other. They are intelligent, stubborn, thoughtful, feisty, lonely, and they both depend on each other in a way that goes deeper than explanation.

Hermione was lounging in an armchair in the back of the library, while Draco sat on the floor against it. Tucked away from the world - that was their favourite spot.

Through the corner of his eyes he could see a sliver of her skin where her shirt had ridden up as she stretched. Her hair covered her face when she reached down to grab a textbook from her bag on the floor. Draco didn't feel like doing much anything, so he just stayed still, a finger holding his place in the closed book on his lap and legs stretched out before him.

"Hermione?" It was her turn to hum. He didn't have anything to say so he didn't. Just listened to her breathing. After she had completed the first section she looked up, asking him what he said. "Oh, nothing. Just wanted to hear you, or say your name or something." His body shifted to lean sideways against the chair, facing her as she failed to hide her smile and went back to revising.

He would never get tired of looking at her.

In which they were complete opposites, but the war had fucked them both up and somehow they find comfort in each other. A Malfoy and a Weasley...what could possibly go wrong? Turns out, a lot of things --- As she stepped back, she simply watched as he lifted a hand to feel on the fresh hickey on the side of his neck. Unlike the other ones, this one would be very visible. Huffing in surprise, he glanced up at her "Full of surprises, aren't you?" Shrugging, she took another step back before turning around and continuing for the direction of the castle. Weasley was still behind her and she called over her shoulder "Keep that one visible, yes? Don't need girls like Susan Bones to get any ideas" "Jealous, little Malfoy?" his voice called after her "Don't call me that" she kept walking "Hold up- did you call me handsome?" As her back was turned to him, she allowed herself to show a tiny smile "As you said, carrot. I'm full of surprises" Later that day, when the sun had finally set and the silence had entered the castle, Leilani was alone in the common room. Her brother was out, god knows where, Theo was with whatever girl he was currently seeing and Pansy was occupied with Tracy Davis in their dorm. As she sat down on the sofa, she let herself sink into it, folding her legs under her. Closing her eyes, she let herself sigh and when she opened them again, Leilani completely froze. There on the dark coffee table were two objects, staring up at her. One she was expecting and one she wasn't. At all. A pink flower and an orange. Fuck.
