Michelle Brook's family has a normal family business: hunting the creatures in the haunting forest of The Syes. This has been going on for generation after generation. Saving their town from the terrifying monsters. But the difference this time is she's the one running towards the danger. She has reached the Turning, becoming of age and learning what your best ability and what works best with you. Not knowing what's behind the terrible view of the forest, she goes out on her first hunt.... Will this prove to her family she could do it or will everything go to despair?
