OK, when she's not an animatronic, Nebula is the Star family's medic, but they don't know she's a vampire who's determined to keep her secret between herself and her family. Before Shining introduces herself to Nebula, said vampire medic's nickname for the sweet mute little girl is "Sweetie." Shining was born with her vocal cords intact, but when she was 19 months old, she was stricken with a mysterious illness that damaged her vocal cords to mute condition, and her family found out a few days after the illness went away when Joseph and Arielle found that their daughter would not respond when she was asked a question, but Onyx found that his sister couldn't speak when she wouldn't giggle when he tickled her. Stricken with grief, her parents desperately tried to find a doctor for babies who could possibly get their daughter's vocal cords working again. Sadly, all the doctors could do nothing for Shining's vocal cords. Nebula has a formula for a special medication that can restore a mute's speech that her mother taught her, so when she gets a message from Joseph and Arielle, Shining and Onyx's parents, saying that their daughter was mute, she sends a message saying that she has a formula for a special medication that would restore their daughter's vocal cords to speaking condition. Joseph and Arielle were delighted that their daughter would be able to speak again and sent another message saying that they would invite her over as soon as possible. From that day on, Nebula was the Star family's medic. BTW, Shining and her family are Japanese natives, but they now live in America, and they know English.
