Sixteen year old Tana is still trying to get over the death of her father and brother when she starts to see things out of the corner of her eye. Things that couldn't possibly exist.
Then she meets the mysterious Kellan who reveals a whole other world which, according to him, she is meant to be a part of. Darkness is looming in this other world, and they are going to need her help. Torn between her growing feelings for Kellan and the wish to live a normal life, Tana has to decide whether it's worth the darkness to get a taste of colour...
