Life of the Lost but Found

In a world unlike our own, fantasy is reality. Four races govern the world, each representing an element, and live together yet separated in their own communities. Dragons, the most seclusive, represent Wind, and like to go with the flow of things, are generally kind and peaceful, and live mostly in small, tight knit villages. There are also the Dwarves, represent Fire, and are a traditionalist people known for craftsmanship. They can be found in most cities, though they have towns above and underground near mountainous regions. Elves represent Earth, and are a people deeply rooted in nature. They are known for being skilled hunters and farmers due to their elemental connection, and live in or around forests and plains. Humans represent Water, and are a steadfast race. They are certainly the most varied, living just about anywhere. They are the best sailors and explorers in the world, and like dwarves, can be found almost anywhere, especially coastal regions. Mysteriously, four villages of each race are attacked and slaughtered by someone yet unknown. They were only after one thing, a thing each village had that set them apart from others. A Secret. Four newly orphaned children would wander with the Secret of their village held close, until fate draws them together.
