I woke up thinking that it was going to be a great day. Instead I see a guy standing in the middle of my bedroom and scream. That was my first instinct, but the guy held a finger up to his mouth signaling to not scream or do anything to make a ruckus. So I slowly walk up to him and silently ask him," Who are you?". He says,"I am Joe.","Well Joe can you please get out my room I have to get to school?","Well then I'll be leaving". And after that sentence he starts to seep through my carpeted floor, and he did that same signal again to not scream because he could see the look on my face. And just before his head went through my floor he mouthed ' I'll explain later'. Darn right he was going to explain to me why he was here, why and how he could transfer through solid objects. I must be going crazy I thought to myself. When I walked down stairs I could still see Joe and my parents didn't seem bothered by his presence. He slowly walked up to me and said," Your parents can't see me so there's no point in telling them that I'm here". I gave him a puzzled look. My mother had asked why I was staring at the ceiling. I was looking at Joe. When I when to look back at his direction he was gone. A story about how a girl can see a ghost and no one else can.

But what she did not expect was to show up on the first day of school to all three of her friends now in relationships. Fighting for their attention, catching some new and confusing feelings for long-time frenemy James, and wading through the pressures of post-high-school plans all have Lara reeling. And to make matters worse, Lara's beautiful and untrustworthy cousin conveniently appears and wiggles her way right between her and James' budding relationship. Feeling like a third wheel in more ways than one, Lara must learn to accept that change is inevitable, love is complicated, and being the odd one out is sometimes where inner power is found.
