When animal lover, Sang Sorenson, finally escapes from her abusive "family" with nothing, but a bunch of animals and the clothes on her back. She immediately runs into The Academy where she is taken into their custody, going from one team to another until she's dumped with the Blackbourne/Toma Team.
The boys, not very happy about having to babysitting some girl, quickly take an interest in the country ghost bird that has brought trouble and many challenges. Especially, when she is keeping some very big secrets that may help them. With the Ashley Waters Mission coming up, they learn that there is more to the country bird then they originally thought.
As Sang starts to get to know the guys, she finds it harder and harder to keep them at arm's length. When she agrees to help them with the job that is coming up, will she be able to keep her secrets behind the wall she has built around her? Or will her walls come crumbling down?
