Sinubukan ni Rhodora ang buhay maynila, subalit naging matigas ang tadhana sa kanya. Kahit anong hanap niya ng trabaho ay hindi siya mapagbibigyan. Hindi naman siya nagkulang sa requirements at ano pang kailangan para sa aapplayan niyang trabaho.
Isang araw, habang siya'y naglalakad. Nakita niya ang isang matandang halos wala ng malay sa daan. Dahil busilak ang kanyang puso ay dinala niya ito sa pinakamalapit na ospital. Hindi nagtagal ay nalaman niyang isa pala itong mayamang businessman, ukol narin sa nadiskobre niya patungkol sa pag uusap nila nang nurse na nag asikaso sa matanda.
Hindi kalaunan, dumating ang isang gwapong nilalang na kahawig ng matanda. Nalaman niyang apo pala ito ng kanyang niligtas. Ngunit saka dahilanang, hindi niya mawari ang simpling pagtanaw lang ng lalaki sa kanya.
Bakit siya nakakaramdam ng ganito gayung ngayon lamang niya nakita ang lalaki? "Hindi maaari ito" pakiwari niya sa kanyang sarili. May dapat pa siyang gawin. Noon paman, pinangako niya sa kanyang sarili na tutuparin niya ang kanyang nais at wala siyang balak umibig.
