Echo uses the opportunity to play cat and mouse with Briar whom is Alders close childhood friend. Echo keeps Briar restrained to the palace in order to torture her but deep down he always wanted her close to him. It's giving tension...confessions, suppressed feelings. My description might be wack but the story is better.
