In a city dominated by men, where women fall just under on the scale of equality, one woman sets out to subtly change how men act around women. Read to find out how she does it.
500-word short story. This is a story inspired by The Handmaid's Tale - it's not parallel to the plot of the actual show, just uses themes from it like equality, women's rights, and forceful men. Please don't comment that it's not like the show because I know it's not! I took a creative leap by doing something that was influenced by the show but didn't follow it.

The Bloodmaid's Tale
It all started like many things start, slow and quiet. And then they came, and everything changed. She had tried to run, but even at the gates of freedom June had fallen. Now she was property, now she was nothing more than a pet. Like a cow that was kept until it was time for slaughter.
