"Please! You know I fucking love you, why would I do something like this, something that would hurt you! I know better than that, I would never put myself in a position to lose you Layla!"

"I don't care about what you have to say, Jack! Honestly, you pulled the last fucking straw. I'm done getting hurt by idiots like you! I trusted you with my heart Jack! After what I've seen, don't expect me to believe one word that comes out of your mouth ever again," she pauses for a moment and let's out a sarcastic laugh as she wipes away her tears.

"Why am I even crying? I probably look pathetic, but not anymore. I'm not going to let you or anybody else hurt me again. So thank you Jack, you opened my eyes with your stupid mistakes-- You can show yourself out." She rips her arms out of my grip.

I stand in the same place frozen, unable to move. Staring back at the spot she was once at.

Life hates me.

Layla and Jack go through a roller coaster of emotions with their relationship. Just like every other couple out there.

They are finding it very difficult to keep up with each other but still manage to keep fighting to stay together ... or at least one of them is trying more than the other.

UPDATE: this book is getting published! While I'd love to keep the first draft fully on here, it's very different than the soon-to-be-published version (don't get me started on how problematic the first draft was). And by different, I mean different title, different synopsis and a lot of scenes have been either redacted or added. If you'd like to know more, I have frequent updates on my IG at @author_linguisticsaddict They say opposites attract. But that wasn't the case for Layla and Jaxon. BEFORE Both bear the deep scars of despair, and for that, they were unknowingly drawn to each other. After surviving a freak accident, Layla struggles to keep up with life and high school and move past the grief. Even though the cut ties, sleepless nights, and repeated blame almost makes it impossible. Until she meets Jaxon, someone who might just make life worth living again. But how can they find happiness with each other when they are both broken beyond repair? AFTER She will never see him again. After seizing a chance to escape from her past, Layla knows she's not going to make the same mistake she did three years ago. She's determined to move on from what happened, stay hidden from those in her past, and find happiness again. But like all things, that's easier said than done. And when the last person she expects collides into her life, it becomes near impossible. ººººººººººººººººº She doesn't believe in serendipity. He refuses to give up. Maybe, they can light up each other's world. And keep it from burning. **Book 1 of the Serendipity trilogy** - rated mature due to some themes on depression, addiction, and the sexually mature parts (those parts are marked) - Draft 1 completed: 11/12/21 {Word Count: 113, 000 - 114, 000 }

"You don't get what?" "Why do you make people sign that thing? I mean, Jack doesn't make his girlfriends sign a confidentiality contract!" my voice raises, and I bite my lip to stop myself. Theres a long, filled silence in the room as he raises his eyebrows at me. "I like being in... control," his words sends a shiver down my body. His stern eyes shoots at mine, and his lips purse as I try to figure what that means. "But.. How? What do you want me to do?" "I want you to give yourself to me... completely." -- - transferred from old account. Written: June 28, 2017 - July 15, 2017
