After Jerromaru's father, Kageromarru- the leader of the Elemental Dragon Tribe, is murdered, Jerromaru is left as the new leader to carry out his father's desires for unity of the five tribes. He was never taught or had ever been shown how to lead anything. His mother, Sheroma, has to show him how to lead the tribe and fight innumerable dragons of the other tribes before the other four tribes attack in six months time. Will he be able to protect his father's tribe, or will he perish a horrendous death?
