This isn't a typical love story where the loser gets the quarterback. They AREN'T going to fall in love. They WON'T live happily ever after. Those stories aren't real. They never happen!
Anna was never the kind of girl to fit in. She was always singled out, and always had a hard life. Her mother died of cancer when she was 10. Her brother was killed in a car accident when he was 21 and she was 15. He was killed by a drunk driver who was also so incredibly high that it was surprising that he wasn't even dead. All she had left was her father.
She has had a hard time trying to cope with the loss of her mother and brother, and has kind of lost herself along the way. But now the stakes are even higher. Her father, trying to cope with the loss of his wife and son, has lost all sense of reality. He beats Anna daily, and his excuse? "I'm so sorry Anna! I just really miss your mom and brother, that sometimes I just get so mad." But, is that really an excuse? Or, is there some underlying issue that needs to be resolved? His moods are extremely unpredictable. One day he will have this "Fuck The World" attitude. The next, he will have this "Why Am I Even Still Alive?" attitude.
She is now 18. She is legally an adult, and she is now responsible for herself. She is getting ready to graduate high school, but now what? Does she stay with her abusive father? Does she try to make something of herself and go to college? Or, does she take "the easy way out" and just end her life?
