TREASON

The vast field was busy with activity. People fighting one another. A punch here, a kick there.

Various wielded weapons. Not all of then seemed easy to wield. One was practicing gracefully with a lance, another slashing through the air with a long... long sword, way too long a sword and one in particular was performing enchanting moves with something that looked like a trident.

Other than that, there was a long table set in the centre of the field surrounded by chairs, a few were occupied by few people who argued about something heatedly.

Everything about the place would've seemed somewhat close to normal-if you don't mind the weapons, that is, and of course the fact that in one part of the field, strange activity could be noted. Very strange activity. Strange enough to make one question their sanity... That is, unless one thinks practicing while on fire is totally normal.

Well, welcome to the Star Academy!

Do enjoy the stay. ;-)

"Who's out there?" One of the men yelled. Of course only silence met them. I remained quiet and waited for the group to start moving again. "Maybe it was just an animal." Someone whispered. The person, who I assumed was the captain of the small squad, signaled for them to walk again. They clearly showed fear as they kept going; brandishing their weapons to guard themselves with. "Two are holding lanterns. I'll tell you when you're too close to them." I heard my friend whisper in my ear. I followed the men as I picked up another branch and waited for the right time to break it. They continued to walk through the forest, turning their heads in every direction as if an animal might lunge at them and rip their throats out. I guess in a way I was going to do that. "Go back a few feet." My friend whispered. I carefully distanced myself from the group and waited. "Where is she?" I quickly snapped the stick as soon as he finished asking the question. They stopped and two soldiers raised their lanterns to shine its light in the darkness. I quickly hid behind a tree before both of them turned where I was. A low frustrated growl came from one of the men, "The girl's playing with us. She's out here following our every move." How paranoia can cloud the mind. At nine years old, Silver decided to leave her village for the forest. Since then, she's been hunted; everyday is a fight for her life, every breath she takes could be her last, but she's determined to stay alive. Her life isn't the kind anyone would want to live but she's managed to survive this long so, what's a few more years?

Guardians of the Hidden Realm: The Fire Crown

16 parts Ongoing

[Rewritten] [Book 1] Twelve-year-old Skylar Sparks never wanted to be special. She was perfectly fine being a Non-Elemental, dreaming of a normal life in London-high school, university, and a future as a veterinarian. But when monstrous Nagas attack her city, everything changes. Skylar becomes the one thing she never expected, the one thing she grew up reading about, the one thing she hated: the Chosen One. Now, as the only Light Elemental in Stelarinia, she's thrown into a world where she's seen as an abomination. Tasked with finding the lost Relics, starting with the Fire Crown, she must navigate ruthless rivals, biased teachers, ancient prophecies, and dangerous creatures lurking in the shadows-all while barely understanding her own Element. With her twin brother by her side, unlikely friendships forming, and a strict Master who prefers whacking her with his staff over giving clear instructions, Skylar must figure out how to survive magical school, master her abilities, and stay alive until the Blue Moon Festival. But there's a problem-someone wants her to fail. And in a world where being the Chosen One means being hunted, failure isn't an option.
