Pen's uncle is a cop, and ever since she was able to crawl, she was being versed in the arts of stranger danger (and possibly a few karate, ninja-like moves). So when some unknown guy begins to chat her up through her car window, and then goes on to watch her as she drives away, she does what she's been taught: she goes to the cops.

However, this turns out to be the least suspicious thing to occur in the following week. A new boy at Penelope's school invites her over to dinner, and suddenly she's being informed that she's involved in a prophecy (which was written on, excuse me, is that toilet paper?) to help stop an evil mastermind named Sir Dastardly and reclaim the prized Purity Crystal.

Pen's reaction? (Well, after she goes a little crazy with her stun gun.) For reasons she still can't explain, to help him and his family take down Sir Dastardly and-so they tell her-to help save the world.

Well, not all evil plots end the way we assume, right?

At age ten, Clarice Stuart is rescued from a potentially traumatizing experience by a mysterious stranger who seems to appear out of nowhere and then disappear just as suddenly. Fifteen years later, on a cold November night on an icy mountain highway as Clarice is on her way to her parents' home for the holidays, a black clad rider on a black motorcycle deliberately strands her on the highway. While Clarice waits for help to arrive, miles away her parents and brother are brutally murdered in their home. At the funeral, a man approaches her and offers his condolences, claiming to be a friend of her brother's. Clarice has a sense of recognition but can't place where she might know him from. As a precaution, three deputies are assigned to watch over Clarice until it can be determined whether or not her family was a target or simply victims of a random attack. Staying at her deceased brother's home, Clarice soon learns that even police protection can't save her from the evil that took her family. When her family's attacker appears and kills the three deputies who were meant to guard her, Clarice is certain she will die as violently as her parents and brother. But standing face to face with the killer, she is shocked to be staring into the face of her recently dead and buried brother. Before he can take her life as well, the black rider appears and saves her from the fate of her family. It is then that she realizes that the black rider is the man from the cemetery - and her guardian from the past. Suddenly she finds herself and her guardian in a deadly, terrifying game of cat and mouse with a killer who won't stay dead. NOTE: This is a complete story, so it won't be distracting me from my other works-in-progress :)

32 parts Complete Mature
In the not-so-distant future evolved humans emerged. Those who had powers that broke conventional laws of physics, chemistry, and biology were dubbed E.H.s (evolved humans); it was wondrous for a time. Of course if there was power to be used there would be those who misuse. To that end the evolved humans police department was formed to deal with all crime committed by or connected to E.H.s, a force entirely comprised of E.H.s trained to stop and capture any E.H. breaking the law. Adlet Blacksteel is the newest edition to the E.H.P.D., his skills and experience as a hostage extractor makes him an invaluable edition. Joined by his new partner, Jenna Jones, he pursues a secretive manhunt for the Soldiers Of The New World, an underground E.H. crime organization that has a hand in all that is illegal, and their mysterious leader: String, who, seemingly, has eyes and ears everywhere. While Adlet and Jenna intend on doing this by the books, their unsavory past with two of String's captains may muddy their judgement, or, more accurately, it already has. As String's ambitions grow beyond just controlling the city's underbelly Adlet and Jenna are forced to take action with an ally he did not desire. While prejudice against E.H.s reaches it's peak because of a horrific tragedy, the Soldiers of the New World waste no time to expand their reach and rally for their cause of taking over the city. Adlet goes to the edge of sacrificing everything and back again. On the way, betrayal awaits at every corner. "My lovely.." He pulled my arm towards him. I felt a slow kiss on the back of my hand. "Sweet.." then another on the other hand. "-golden heart girl." He looked up through his eyelashes. I stay silent as I looked around the room, avoiding eye contact. He placed his free hand on my waist, the other still holding my hand. "Shall I call them over while I have you bent over this bed?" He says planting a kiss on my stomach, going lower each time. I run my free hand through the back of his hair, gently pulling his head back slightly, forcing him to look back up at me. He had a dangerously evil smile on. I knew my cheeks were going red, I pushed him away and rushed towards the the door. "You always do this." I mumble quietly, trying to catch my breath which I lost in the heat of the moment. "Would you be lying to me if you said you didn't like it?" He replied, walking over to me. I kept my mouth shut. ~ ~ ~ Most confusing Love V/ triangle trope you'll ever find¡¡ Sequels out!¡ !!Inspiration from Nikkireadw!!

[Wattpad's Summer Reading Checklist 2022 Pick] "'Hella heavy' is your response to seeing me with a literal fish tail?" "Sorry. Should ... should it be something else? Wait, does this mean that you can't eat sushi?" * * * * * When Alyssa shows up in Hulhazy Front a week after wiping the memory of her partner, she's terrified of ruining everything again. Her brother and dad are convinced she'll be okay as soon as she's able to "move on", which makes no sense to her, because they sound like the exact same thing. Alyssa doesn't care about moving on--she just cares about hiding the fact that she's a mermaid from this new small town, and especially her new coworker, Elliot. Elliot has spent the past year trying to figure out how to be out. It seems that every time she finds some kind of balance, something has to happen. Her parents say something homophobic before she's about to confess her "big secret," or her old friends from the swim team make some jab about all the things they're convinced Elliot did sophomore year. She's planning on her summer consisting of working at the public pool, hiding her sexuality, and third-wheeling it up with her best friends, Neema and Duncan. Until, of course, she meets Alyssa. *cover created using graphics from freepik*
