Abigail Summers is a blind sixteen year-old high school student.
She's witty, smart, competitive, loyal, trusting (once you earn it), an animal person, and scarred. She was born blind, and has better hearing than most. Her mother died when she was young, making her father verbally and, sometimes, physically abusive. Brent, her brother, was her best friend and rock. He was always kind and always there for her, but, due to him being too young to have custody of Abigail, she has to move in with one of her mom's old friends, the Stevens.
This family has seven members, five kids and two adults, the kids consisting of four boys and one girl. They also live on a ranch and Abigail soon meets her best friend, finding love in an unexpected place.
