Leighton Sanchez has a dark past that shes been trying to move on from. She was abused by her parents after her brother went to college. When he came back, he immediately took her out of the wretched place. Two months later her brother, Nathan, makes her promise that she will try to return to a semi normal life by returning to school. Her first day back she meets a handsome stranger that seemingly broke through all her barriers with a simple smile.

Jesse and his brother have their own problems at home but they push that all aside to try and help their new friend who seems extremely guarded. The three quickly become friends and help each other cope with their problems. Soon enough though, Leighton starts having strange feelings around her new friends.
