She used to love the color. Now she hates it. It is all she sees. It is the color of hate, anger, blood... And most of all... it is her name.

Red Valance never understood why the people of her village feared her grandmother, who was dying of a mysterious illness. They also feared Red, being the granddaughter. All it took was a glance and they cowered.
At this point, the only person to ever love her was her grandmother. Red never met her parents, who died many years ago.

It all changed the day a young man, named Castile, showed up.
