Mae Carter isn't exactly one who's been lucky in the love department. With her past love gone and miles away, she's given the chance to start over. A famous book, book tours, and crazy friend schedules, may keep her busy for the time being. But when summer drifts away into fall, things settle down, and they ask her to do so as well.

That's when someone fond of Mae comes striding in. With interest, Mae takes account of Hunter Hayes, an elated fan of her books. But when things get familiar in a way that reminds her of her former friend, Carson Dagger, she is quick to overthink her feelings.
