This Boat of Paper is what started it all. Vick first wrote This Boat of Paper as a class assignment when he was in the first grade. He based this story off of the hardships he had to face as a Zulian. This Boat of Paper is a short story about overcoming obstacles. When Vick reached the age twenty he found his old class assignment and decided to edit it.

Innovate and elevate by GabbyChernok
1 part Complete Mature
My name is Gabrial Chernok, and I wrote this book because I believe I can help people of all ages to believe in themselves, especially when they might feel like they can't. I want to inspire young students with learning disabilities to see their potential and understand that they are not alone in their struggles. This book is a message to students, parents, teachers, and anyone who has faced challenges in school or life. At sixteen years old, I am still in high school, and I love drawing, making crafts, and spending time with my two birds, one gecko, and one dog. While my life is filled with fun now, it wasn't always this way. I have a learning disability that made success seem impossible at times. I was diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactive disorder (ADHD) and a reading-comprehension learning disability. My life as a learning-disabled individual has been a roller-coaster of emotions. I let my diagnoses control my life, my confidence, and the way I thought about myself. I felt hopeless in my classes, often giving up and hiding in the back of the classroom with my hoodie up, trying not to bother anyone. I struggled to understand why I couldn't pick up information like everyone else. I remember telling myself that I would try to be "normal" like everyone else, but my so-called friends would call me dumb and stupid. I let my learning disability control how people thought of me as a person. But this book is not just about my struggles; it's about how I overcame them and how you can too. It's about finding strength in adversity and believing in yourself, no matter what challenges you
