In a world that contains a mashup of fairytales, fantasy elements, and historical fiction that were ripped apart, tossed in a blender, and put back together like a mosaic by me. If historical fantasy were an option on here, i'd pick it.
In the rather xenophobic kingdom of Korona, the Staff of Empyrean, which was gifted by a witch hundreds of years ago to the royal family, has been passed down through the generations to royal offspring, as legend says it will protect them in times of great need, although most people aren't sure just how that's supposed to work. One woman wants to harness the power it holds for great personal glory. One boy just wants to stop running. And one girl wants revenge almost as badly as she wants to belong.
If you sense a reference to the Disney movie Tangled, yes, that was one of the inspirations for this. I mean for this to be completely my intellectual property though.
