This group of species are born with eyes of an animal... no one knows why this genetic mutation is or why people have them... and how they use them.
People can wear contact lenses to hide the face they're an Anieye too, but only 50% of the population have Anieyes. There's also a protest against Anieyes! PS there's a way between America and Canada cause why not, this is a different multiverse. I'll be adding more stories too

After spending several years in a stable environment they're moving again, this time not only are they leaving behind friends but also their mother's grave. Virgil has to convince his twin brother and their dad that, despite his terrible migraines and sometimes crippling anxiety, he won't go down the same road as his mother. On top of having an overprotective family he has to navigate being the new kid in his senior year of high school, making friends, falling in love, and learning how to save a life. How hard can the next nine months be? All he has to do is hold on and convince his new best friend to do the same.
