Jack lived with his current boyfriend in Ireland. His boyfriend used to be so lovey and nice, but now Jack was lucky if he could make it through a day without any sort of abuse, whether it be yelling and screaming or getting beat. All he wanted to do was leave, but he felt like he couldn't, not until he was put in the hospital. His eyes opened up and he finally left, but his inner demons won't leave him alone. As he lives with Mark in L.A., he suffers alone, fearing of more abuse if he mentions any of what happened.
And, Mark is also suffering. Mark is afraid of his feelings for Jack. Mark's afraid of being rejected if Jack finds out just how much he really feels for the other.
