Alright, three of those things are lies, but the last one is true, she doesn't have any step-anything.
In reality, her 'perfectly normal life' is a living hell. Her mother died years ago. Last but not least her 'loving father' is abusive.

This is inspired by a writing project I supervised when I worked with an elementary student. This writing project was a group project to make their own spin on a fairy tale assigned to the group. It had to have all the main points of their fairy tale, start and and with the common phrases of a fairy tale, and it had to have their own creative spin. My student did Cinderella, and it was so fun to work with him and his group, I wanted to make my own. Our dear Cinderella loves to bake, but she's not exactly looking for love when an opportunity to make a name for herself comes up. As for Prince Charming, he is looking for love, just not in the usual fairy tale fashion. And as usual, there's some extra mischief from the step family, royal family, and fairy godmother. She even meets a monk, blessed with the gift of music, who shares her passion and is willing to teach Elena the secrets of the piano. It's perfect. But it was only the tip of the iceberg. Elena's piece of tranquility is broken when she stumbles into another mess, leaving her caged and alone in the forest. Fortunately for our heroine, a prince crosses her path, helping her in her need. One might see this as the Universe's way for entertainment, or the fate's bizarre tactics to bring people together. Whatever it might be, it did not stop Elena from catching the eye of the prince of a powerful kingdom. Before anyone knows what's even happening, they're caught in the middle of it all; like a cat trapped in a yarn. After all, even the stone you trip on is a part of your destiny.
