He saw her everyday. She wore the same baby blue uniform and her huge dangly earring with a huge smile. Whoever she spoke to had a smile on their face by the time she had finished taking their order. He looked away to the window to hide his bruises from her as she smiled at him. He only drank coffee and she would always give it to him. She always asked if he wanted anything else, he always said no. He saw a certain innocence in her, so he never did anything or he'd think he had tainted her. She saw him on his good days and bad days. She could feel him looking at her from across the diner, when he looked away she would take a quick glance. She could always recognise him by the baseball cap he wore, always wearing dark colours in the colourful diner. She would always personally refill his cup of coffee, sometimes without even asking but he would always drink it. She would smile at him but he would be looking out the window. She had seen his dog tags but kept quiet. She always wondered about him, coming in everyday for coffee and sitting for a while before paying his due and leaving. **HONOR AWARDS 1ST PLACE FANFICTION** Frank's life changed forever when he was 22 years old. And it will never be the same again. Two unbelievable, inexplicable events occured, driving off any normalicy in Frank's life. One good. One bad. But both of them crazy. Insane. Firstly a mysterious, morbid string of murders occured in Frank's town, just metres from his house. The victims were mutilated, slits cut along their bodies. The area fell into panic, the press labelling the serial killer as 'America's Ripper'. The second crazy thing was less of a thing, and more of a person. Gerard Way. An abnormally charming, strangly confident outcast that made it his duty to befriend Frank. But Frank has never met anyone like Gerard, and he starts to fall for him. Together, the two of them must face the menace that haunts the neighborhood, and find out if their relationship will break or hold strong. "Fire tests gold" ((Trigger warnings: Swearing, mild violence/gore))
