Melanie Orenburg knew the Mechanic before he became the Mechanic, they met like every other couple, happened upon each other before slowly falling in love and getting married. Years later, Jeff vanished and the Hood returns bringing back the anger Melanie had for the Hood being responsible for her not remembering herself or the one she loves.
