Super human powers became commonplace almost 100 years now, the first appearance came in 2022 from a man in Germany after escaping solitary confinement using super strength. now it's become a deal with about 7% of the population evolving to have said powers.
The government set up a training regiment, almost like a school. where the best of the best are gathered to enhance there skills. Most go on to join a special group, that work against terrorism and general threats. They become uncanny Hero's as such.
Tyler wasn't the most popular person growing up, but after a showcase of his power saving other civilian from a hostage operation went viral for his fire conjuring abilities. He was invited to the Naog.
Everything seems to be going fine, however, it turns out something sinister is going on...

Shortlisted for the Open Novella Contest 2019 • Being a Supervillain is tough. Between managing a secret lair and making sure your mom doesn't stop loving you because you keep telling everyone she's dead, it's a really hard business to be good at? Add to that, the fact that somehow you got arrested because your cat sitter didn't take the day off and then you go around expressing your unconditional love for pancakes in a Super holding cell because technically they can't put you in a proper prison and you don't really have a choice because lawyers are expensive? And then, you realise your best friend is plotting go take over your spot as the greatest villain there ever was? Okay, maybe not the greatest, but you do come pretty close to it! To top it off, there's that one Superhero who's just so completely gorgeous, you couldn't imagine any harm coming to them? Because they're just that precious? I guess that makes me a Supervillain with minor time travel superpowers and a huge crush on a not so powerful Superhero? In the year 2088, there exists a city known as Cyberlantis which is full of beautiful bright lights and incredible technology. One day, Ryan is hanging out after school with his close friends, when a mysterious object falls from the sky, and crash lands nearby. They go to investigate, only to find that the mysterious object is a dark astronaut's that is possessed by an alien lifeform. The helmet then forces itself onto Ryan's head, giving him strange superpowers that are truly out of this world. The group of friends, led by their new alien companion, embark on an exciting journey around the futuristic city of Cyberlantis, making new friends along the way and discovering some of the city's secrets from years passed by. However, throughout their adventure, the five friends cant help but feel that somebody is watching their every move... Originally, I created this book for my graphic art A level course, and since then I have expanded it into a two part series, both featuring hand drawn illustrations by me. The illustrations get much better in quality as the story goes along as my digital drawing skills grew overtime as I wrote the story.Terminé

In an alternate timeline, the human race found a way to create superpowers. By extracting energy from stars and inserting that energy into humans, 'powers' were created. Powers allowed humans to gain unnatural abilities such as flight, invisibility, super strength or in other words, superpowers. Of course, with the introduction of something so revolutionary, people rose up in the hundreds of thousands in an event known as the Great Rebellion. The insurgents banded together under a single banner and became collectively known as the Shadow, marking the beginning of the Cosmic Wars. Out of the darkness, the Gazers were born. Using what remained of the power technology, the Gazers singlehandedly perished the evil and ended the conflict. However, there was a price to pay. Powers put a toll on the human body and had serious mental and physical repercussions. The solution was to recruit children from the age of 13 to 18 and train them so their bodies would adapt to their powers, eventually becoming immune to all negative side effects. The end of the Cosmic Wars brought forth a new age of peace and prosperity that the world had never seen before. However, the long reign of the Gazers has already begun to crumble, cracks showing up within the very thread of society. Their rule will not last for much longer. The Shadow will rise once again.
