Lancine Broadwin is the daughter and only child of Lance Broadwin a wealthy architecture. She lives in the family's old mansion in a New York suburb where everyone seems to be stuck in 1860. Lacey has a life ruled by her Mother every moment and detail is planned for her. She goes to an all girls school and has very little for herself. When an old friend returns and she slowly starts falling in love something she is both unaware of and afraid of things start looking strange. A boy she hates tries getting her sent away and there is talk about a strange locket with a rare blue gem. She gets trapped in a morbid time machine which travels her to 1945, the year on her daughter's death, to try to save her from the events. Some are dark and morbid, even when everyone in your town talks about it. This story is not getting the attention it deserves, so I am attempting to "re-brand" it. Maybe no one "gets" it. If you want to read about "Normal" teenagers, maybe this isn't for you, it's more complicated than that. It's about a teenager who doesn't fit it, but doesn't want to, who has the best two friends that anyone could have. Who watched his father lose his job in the Recession and then loses his home, and how he copes, especially when he learns that their new house is haunted and the ghost is in his room. Michael was an average kid, although he's always stood out. He was a school jock but also a skater whose long blond hair almost reaches his waist. When his parents lived in a house in a home owners association like all his other friends, life seemed normal. Then his father lost his job and suddenly those "friends" weren't there anymore--except for his two best friends, Short Round and Dewey. The three are skaters, good ones, who live for girls and their skateboards. They're also basically good kids who take pride in being different without paying attention to it. When Michael loses his home and his family has to move they have his back. And they are there for him when the ghost girl starts following him around. Mariah was murdered when she was just 15, her remains were never found, although no one but her and her ghost friend, Crazy Girl, know where their bodies are buried. The house Michael now lives in is the one where she lived with her family, and her old room is now his. She appears to him one night, trying to taunt him, but against her will she is falling in love with the boy who lives in her old room.
