Giuseppani Taylor went through something no teenager should ever have to, a school shooting. In her small, private school everyone died, everyone but her and she has no reason why. Months later she is sent to public school with the hope that she can make it. Dakota Anderson is a new teacher at Lincoln High who has come to help his parents after his sister is killed in a school shooting. After Giuseppani comes to his class he can't help but feel animosity towards the lone survivor. However, what Dakota did not expect was to feel a connection with her. Can they find the strength to heal with each other or will they let the past get in the way of love?

Due to having a terrible memory, Aiden decided to write in journals about his daily struggles, his longing for a better life, and breakthroughs that he accomplishes throughout the story. Aiden loves to sing and Write his own music. He is good at the piano but his love is the old guitar that his Gramps gave him years ago. Aiden has one younger brother named Caleb, which is the normal typical annoying brother. Aiden has a girlfriend named Tessa who lives about an hour away from him who he longs to marry. Throughout the story, Aiden struggles to move on through each day, as days turn into night and night into day, he finds himself growing colder towards his father. Who is the towns hero practically. everybody loves the star football coach, Josh Phillips. Things aren't what they seem behind doors though, their father tends to be abusive. Verbal and physical. Aiden can choose to live with his mom but chooses not to because he wants to protect his brother who can't choose yet. As Aiden dives deeper into his fathers unknown past, he uncovers more and more details about his father's past. As he continues to dive deeper, the tension grows heavier. Through out the story, Aiden finds himself digging through old journals, trying to remember certain things. Can Aiden solve the mystery of his father's behavior and show the world the true nature of his father or will he choose to shrink down to nothing and continue to struggle?Complete
