I walked up to the door and knocked on it hard, making a sharp pain fly through my hand. The door opens with a large creaking sound and there stands a boy, shirtless with a smile upon his face.

"You must be Skylar, Skylar Dover" he looked at me with his brown eyes.

"Y-yes I am, how do you know my name?"  I mumble.

"I'm your new roommate" he smiles, inviting me in.


19 year old Skylar Dover has just moved to New York for better opportunities for college. She was thought its was going to be a nice sweet girl roommate, but she thought wrong.All Rights Reserved

Echo opens it, surprised at the smiling figure of a male looking down at her. "Hi! Is Izzy here?! I have to drop off her notes!" I turn around when I hear him struggling with the door. "The door won't open." He says pointing to the handle. "Yeah it's been weird the past week or two. You just have to yank on it." I say as I walk up to it to open it. But a loud static sound comes over the speakers. "Hello students of Clover University. It seems we've had a glitch in the locking system. We're not sure how long it will take to repair. So unfortunately you're stuck in the dorms until further notice. We're sorry for the inconvenience." The speakers make a beeping sound then go quiet. I sigh before throwing my bag on my bed and plopping down. I pull out my phone and call my parents, telling them what is happening and that I won't see them until they fix the issue in the system. "Well then. Guess I'm stuck with thee Echo Short!" The boys smiles joyfully before marching over to Izzy's bed and sitting down. "So you know my name but I don't know yours." I say looking at him. He chuckles. "Kai Wells! It's a pleasure to meet you!" He says happily. "Nice to meet you Kai Wells! I look forward to getting to know you buddy." I say with a faint smile before falling back into my bed and plugging in my earbuds. This is gonna be a weird... BOOK #1 IN THE SHORT SERIES (not sure when the other ones will be out or even if they'll be released)
