Taking place in the south during the 1970's is the unfolding of 20 years of letters written to a child the main character, Wynne, could never have. The letters were written while she usually drank a glass of deep red wine, giving her courage to tell her story of transforming from a girl and growing into truly a woman of this world. She's shaped by a traumatic and well known circumstance so many woman are forced into around the world, one evening inside the car of her fiancé, which forever changes her outlook on life. From there on out, she's determined to break social norms of what is expected for her life during a historic era of feminism. Throughout the 1970's and 1980's, she shares her unknown stories of courage fighting for equality amongst men, adventures of traveling, and above all else, finding love. The love of her life and and a love for life.

The only child of one of Stalin's closest friends, she grew up in the limelight, scrutinized by friend and foe. With the outbreak of the war, Sveta found a taste of freedom with the snipers. For Zhanna, her place in the military was the only thing she could be proud of, giving her a tie to the place she called home. With the grace of others looming over her head, Zhanna had only one chance to be more than the blood inside her veins and the prayer on her lips. But then the Nazis invaded the Motherland. Tasked with reaching the Allies by her father, Sveta once more found herself a political pawn. But she wouldn't go alone. Friend and comrade Zhanna joined her in their flight from Russia. But with the Eastern Front crumbling, the girls found themselves at the mercy of America for a way home. And that way home meant learning to jump with the Airborne. They were already soldiers. How hard could that be? For Zhanna, she may be able to embrace the company of those around her. Wildflowers In The Ruins: A 1917 Story by Snowdropsdream

Completed fan fiction for the film 1917: This is the very first fan fiction I've ever attempted. Please be kind. I hope you like it. It features all of the main characters, several of the others, plus many I've created. Northern France, April 1917: A Voluntary Aid Detachment nurse is sent on an urgent mission across no-man's land accompanying two Lance Corporals, but she will have her own mission to fullfil also and be tested in ways she never deemed possible. Each chapter is named after a flower, relevant to the story, and that you can encounter growing in the wild, either in Britain or Northern France, with the exception of roses and Sweet William's. This story does contain spoilers from the film so it's really worth watching it first. Chapers two (from around halfway through) to eight I've taken directly from the film. The script is copyrighted to Sam Mendes and Krysty Wilson-Cairns, although I've worked from what's spoken in the film rather than off the script. I've taken inspiration from other films, television and books (fiction and non-fiction) set in the First World War too such as Forgotten Voices, The Roses Of No-Man's Land, War Horse, The Crimson Field, Private Peaceful, They Shall Not Grow Old, Testament Of Youth, Journey's End and Birdsong. I've also taken inspiration from the beautiful book A Song For Will which is based on the true story of the gardeners and labourers from the Heligan Estate in Cornwall. Every character who isn't featured in the film 1917 is fictitious and the names are entirely made-up, although every female character's Christian name in my story belongs to a female relative of mine who was alive at the time of the First World War, for example my four Great-grandmothers were Mary-Jane, Lavinia, Ada and Alice. A history between America and Canada throughout the years written in diary entries from both perspectives with little twists here and there. The two countries had been through quite a considerable bunch, ups and downs alike. However, when war and crisis break out, it's difficult to keep their relationship in check , saying both have to mend to their own or ally's wounds, or deal with conflicts between their enemies. Conclusions and resolutions play a dramatic role as it determines the relationship between the two; it could either deteriorate reliance or openly express participation. Can the two neighboring countries remain side-by-side through all their struggles? Or will they break ties with the other, never to establish their trust again?
