Thistlepaw, Sunpaw, Eaglepaw, and Thornpaw are apprentices of ThunderClan. They're close as they can be, considering how they're littermates, even though they're on separate paths. Thistlepaw and Sunpaw both only want to be the best they can be, to be great warriors, and to have mates one day. Eaglepaw has sat his paws on the destiny to become a medicine cat. Thornpaw has the greatest ambition: he wants to be the next leader of ThunderClan. But when a mysterious prophecy comes to play, it threatens to rip the littermates apart, destroying everything they could wish for.

Mousepaw has always felt a certain way about Cloudpaw, like he liked her more than anyone. The apprentice eventually played along, and began hanging out with Cloudpaw more. Meanwhile, Barktail, a rogue, is being ostracized in his group for justifying Clan cats. When RiverClan cats find him and his friend, Fox, on their territory, they tell their leader. When Cloudpaw finds out about the rogues, he is determined to find them. But Mousepaw isn't sure. Soon, her life will be different with a rogue friendship, and maybe her supposed friend, Cloudpaw, isn't that good.
