She might starve or freeze to death but she'll be free. Then one day three men come after her, intent on forcing her and beating her for what little she has. Before one of them does more than grab her arm the three are gone. Helen looks down and finds them on the ground with their hearts torn out of the bodies. To Stay Human (wip)
Three siblings have had their lives upended by a military force that destroyed their hometown. By serendipity or misfortune, they've met Noah and Gregory. The former saw an opportunity to advance his research and potentially humanity as a whole. The latter saw three miserable children who had been through far more than the dejected look on their faces could tell. None of them could've guessed that by securing the means to live without worry, they'd have to harbor and collaborate with an entity whose identity was lost many centuries ago.
