Atop a bookshelf, in an otherwise normal classroom, sits a castle made of cardboard. And inside it, a small civilization that idolizes literature. When books go astray from the royal library, the otherwise peaceful court is thrown into chaos. This is a mystery short story I wrote in the fall of 2016 for a language arts project. The pictures on the cover and at the beginning of the story were taken by me. I hope you enjoy it! As it is my first story, the quality may not be that great. Any constructive feedback is welcome!

" Stay". " pardon me". I said. Not in that rude English manner but out of surprise. " just for a little longer. Could you stay. Come intro the garden with me ". he said. An enchanted garden, a tale that exceeds time. Join the boy who loves a girl he mustn't love and a girl love a ghost she doesn't fully understand. A romance in a thriller. Who exactly is the silhouette and why does he have no parents or never leave the old white picket fence of his house. For the longest time. Since I can remember, the only thing I was ever good at was writing stories or telling them. It's the only thing that got me through the day or even for the majority of high school. This story ' the boy in the garden' was inspired by a house I found one day coming back from school. The story is my narration of what I think could have happened to the house and inspired by a former crush I had when I was in the 9th grade. I hope you enjoy it .
