Running. Panting. That is all that 15 year old Hunter was doing. All he felt was the wind rushing past him and the soft grass under his feet. All he heard was the thudding of his feet and the thudding shoes of his pursuers. All he saw was a blur of browns and greens. He didn't see this because he was running, but because he was tired, hungry, dehydrated, cold, and most of all, poisoned.
This novel is inspired by Awesome Dragon's AMAZING book series, "The 'Gifted' Trilogy." I give them half the credit of this book, and a HUGE thank you.

My black oxford pumps were soaked from accidentally stepping on a puddle, and the tiny yellow umbrella I held up barely saved me from the chilly rain. Pico was running. From what, he wouldn't tell anyone. He wasn't even completly sure if he knew. Nevertheless, it was constant movement for years on end. He knew how to do things, and when to do them. One day he heard a commotion nearby. For once, he let his curiosity take charge and went to investigate. He met a young man with blue hair, and the two hit it off. Before he knew it, he was catching feelings. COVER ART IS MINE! I change my user often. I need to redraw it soon because I hate it. Warning: This is an Angst Story! "I bandaged everything the best I could. It will need stitches. However, I'm afraid that it is broken. Same as your leg. Broken and needs stitches. How's your head feeling? I haven't been able to get that sucker to stop bleeding." His voice sliced through the air. I stare at him, confused, looking around, wanting to be anywhere but here. He clears his throat once again. "Mate, did you hear me?" "How is your head feeling?" I close my eyes. What the fuck? What the fuck? I was angry, annoyed, and frightened. What, mate? What cruel world would make me mate with a wolf? No, no, no... My arm and leg were throbbing intensely. My head was screaming. I brought my fingers up to my head to try and rub the pain away. I needed to leave. Now. I told myself. My mind is still groggy, unable to swiftly move my body like I need to. I didn't even notice I was crying until his voice rang through my ears once again. The sky was a flat, depressing grey and the incessant, soaking rain left her constantly chilled. It was a typical "liquid sunshine" day in the Pacific Northwest. They drove past a single tall scraggly tree on top of a hill shrouded in mist. The creepy tree was full of screaming crows. How could she hear them from inside the bus when she couldn't even seem to hear the voices of the kids around her? Geez, that was an awfully freaking dark image. She shivered and looked away. What did they call a group of crows again? Right, a murder of crows. Perfect. The weather was certainly the only thing that was typical these days, although you'd never know it by looking around the bus at most of the kids as they sat joking and gossiping with each other just like they had before... before that day everything had changed. I ask, gazing into her sad but beautiful blue eyes. She settles back against me, her voice barely above a whisper.
