Tessa Meyers comes from a long line of witches, and an even longer line of dragons, but she doesn't know either. One fateful day, she sets her house on fire, quite by accident, and kills her family. Her world is turned upside down. Forced to move to Britian with her crazy aunt, Minevera McGonagall, things couldn't get worse. Until Professer Umbridge determines she can't attend Hogwarts. Tessa is forced into servitude, and to top things off, she isn't allow to have contact with any of the students. What happens when she falls for the girl she isn't even supposed to talk to? A/N I am horrible with timelines, so while this takes place in the Potterverse that the books do, everything is moved forward in time to be present day, that being 2017.

During Harry Potter's sixth year at Hogwarts, as whispers of Voldemort's return grow louder and Dumbledore begins to unravel the secrets of the Dark Lord's past, a new student arrives under a cloud of mystery. Eirdis Lunette-expelled from Durmstrang for dangerous spellwork and a disregard for rules-is sorted into Slytherin, where she quickly becomes a curiosity, a threat, and an enigma to the student body. Fiercely independent, Eirdis doesn't care for house rivalries or bloodlines, and her unexpected friendship with Harry, Hermione, and Ron raises eyebrows and tensions alike-especially with Draco Malfoy, whose contempt for her is matched only by a volatile, magnetic tension neither of them can explain. As danger mounts inside and outside the castle, Eirdis is forced to confront the past she left behind, the secrets she's hiding, and the darkness that Hogwarts itself is beginning to awaken. In a school divided by fear, one girl may tip the scales between loyalty and betrayal, light and shadow. Magic is power-but trust is everything.
