The Patrol: Book One

Alex Alden was just the scum on the boot of society, trying to get her life together. She was a runaway dropout, but she had goals. Had, past tense because the world decided it wanted to fall apart and now the the undead roamed every street in the U.S., probably the world but with no communication who knew?

The end of everything hasn't necessarily changed Alex, just brought out her potential as some would call it. She was a surviving machine, a force not to be reckoned with. She's spent the last year just wandering, danger at every corner and no safe haven, she's adapted. But can she adapt again?

She's just trying to survive, but danger follows her both dead and alive. Alex ends up joining up with rag tag team of survivors that call themselves The Patrol, who in turn protect a community that they called The Neighborhood. The Patrol's mission is to basically be the SWAT team of the place, compensated with, well, everything. Is it too good to be true or has dumb luck struck again? Alex realizes that everything isn't what it seems, she's too deep in to get out. Can she save The Neighborhood or will she go down with it?
