Book ONE in the Kinder Series. The ones I love have gone away. I am left with just a few people that I know now. I am told to be a fighter, and to be honest and brave. The war has come and I must find out who I am, who my friends are, and who I really trust. I must believe in what I know, because if I believe in what is unknown, well, I might not be here for long. There is a war raging within me, a constant battle between what I know and what I feel. My priorities became a blur after you happened, and absence never felt so real.

It's a story about recovering from depression. My journey to stay happy after a long couple years. I write mostly poetry. I never thought it would end like this. I always thought I had a home. I always thought I had a family, but as it turns out, my past is darker than the lies they told me and the truth they kept from me.

I was waiting for my dad when my life changed. Not in any way like a fairy tale with magic wands or going through a rabbit hole like kids in the books do. More like I found it and wished my father came back to clean up his own problem instead of risking my life for this. I can only hope that I will make it out alive.

Why make up stories when life itself is so....interesting. Relive these events with me as I record my own personal experiences growing up. You never know what you might find, sometimes all we need is a bit of perspective.
