There was once another universe, with energy principles governed by magic. However, the blast that created this universe additionally created the Tenebrae - shadow-like, formless creatures that feed off human energy. For three hundred years, magic-wielding warriors waged war against the Tenebrae. When a prophecy announces the defeat and return of the more-powerful Tenebrae thousands of years later, the warriors engineer their deaths in a way that will allow them to increase in power through a series of successive reincarnations, which destroys the universe and opens it up to hosting defeated Tenebrae. Additionally, the prophecy envisioned the rise of a great power - the souls of two past warriors, destined to live every one of their lifetimes as lovers, connected and synchronized in power. In Irene Corona's small town, the Tenebrae are increasing in power - and escaping the seal that keeps them away. The situation is growing desperate, and she can no longer fight alone - but who can she trust, and how can she grow stronger?
