"Look both ways before you cross. Keep your head down, don't talk to strangers! Remember to pay attention and ask twice when you get on the bus, and if it's a taxi ask to see their taxi license. If they refuse, run . Don't walk with your headphones on either...and if you get lost, it's up to you to get home." Right. Up to me. _____________. 17 year old Lisa Gomes Smithgall has been thinking about one thing only all week, and that is the SAT. Thinking about taking them, thinking about getting there, thinking about having the right stuff up front. But not thinking about how she would get home, Lisa rarely takes the bus anywhere, so it's not a surprised that she gets lost and ends up in the middle of downtown. Whats a surprise is the what happened that led her to getting lost. First, she looses her keys to the house. Then, she misses her bus and has to wait for an hour for the next one to come, then she gets kidnapped, then she escapes, then she gets on a taxi which lands her in jail, then she's on the run from the police, then her phone gets eaten alive and then she looses her shoes. No keys, phone, wallet, or shoes in the middle of downtown at 8:30 something pm . She has her mom, the kidnappers, the taxi men, and the police after her! Now theres only two questions that will be answered if you read this book (HINT HINT!) Who'll get to her first ? And how will she get home ? After all it's all up to her now.
