Knife's Edge

Nyx has been on the run for who knows how long. A fugitive in the eyes of the Sanguina Institute. An enemy of the IndivCo Union. What a life it must be to run from two different evils.

Nyx has led an uneventful life for four years, a much-needed change of pace after growing up in the Sanguina Institute surrounded by war councilors and a handful of genetically modified agents - but not without the threat of an assassination hovering over her shoulders as well as her fellow fugitives.
Things took a turn for the worst when her little world of safety and sunflowers began crumbling in on itself as the Institution threatened to take away everything from her. Of course, being a beacon of diplomacy and all, the Institution was welcome to compromise. They agreed to ensure her friends' and her safety - the only condition being that they turn themselves in and return to the very place they've been running from for four years. The bargain seemed laughable until another danger from the IndivCo union began looming over them.
Join Nyx as she treads through a world where sinister forces hiding in plain sight hold governments by the neck, where genetically engineered humans freely roam the planet undetected, and where people are constantly battling and choosing between two evils.

I started writing this story way back when. It's gone through multiple readings, re-readings, edits, revisions, and a whirlwind of miscellaneous events along the way until I decided to go on hiatus and take a break from writing for a while. It's a work in progress, just like me, but like all good things, it'll take time. How long? I don't know. Who knows anything these days anyway?

But I do know that I'm back, and I'm (probably) here to stay.
