Vier monniken gaan naar een eiland om er een klooster te bouwen. Hun pogingen lopen op niets uit. Ze komen zichzelf tegen en elkaar, en uit de confrontaties die daaruit ontstaan, groeit onbedoeld hun klooster. De God naar wie ze op zoek zijn in het kloosterleven laat zich niet binnen de muren van een klooster vangen. Pas als alles hun uit handen is geslagen laat God zich vinden, geheel onverwacht.

Want wat als je eigenlijk aan het liegen bent en de waarheid te pijnlijk is ? Wat als je geen uitleg kunt geven op die vragen omdat je zelf de antwoorden niet weet.. Een fake smile op je gezicht zetten en door het leven gaan ? Dat doe ik elke dag... Altijd is het de makkelijkste manier geweest om al mijn pijn te verbergen, tot op de dag dat ik hem ontmoette...
