I watched the entire forest burn down. I will kill her. She will pay for this. I looked over at Queenie, who's face was stained with tears. I walked over to her and wiped them off. "We'll get through this." I said, in a soft tone. She gave me slight smile. I picked up the sword left from the battle. I ran back into the woods. I heard Queenie yelling for me to stop. She tried to run after me but I put a wall of ice in her way. She banged on it trying to get by, but it didn't break.

*COMPLETED* My head bowed in a heavy mannor, not in respect, but in trepidation. I discern his unwavering gaze over my ill silhouette. "Look at me." I opened my eyes, though it made no difference. Black is still black, all I am left with are my four senses. He will kill me if I don't look. He will kill me if I do. He will look into my sightless eyes and see my futile existence isn't worth living. He will kill me, and he will be doing the pack a justice by it. He growls a low, throaty snarl to warn me about disobeying an alpha. There will be consequences, we both know that. His lingering growls let me know he is not going to allow me to contravene his word. I steadily inch my head upwards, visibly shaking everywhere else. Maybe he won't notice my depthless eyes from across the gazebo. My life depends on it. "You're blind." ~ Monet was born into a particularly prestigious area of her wolf pack, to parents of extremely high standards. Her legacy is to become the packs next healer, but when she was born completely devoid of melanin, all her mated parents saw was a disappointment. Being born an albino wolf pup meant a lot for Monet, but it mostly meant her condition had taken her eyesight along with it. What happens when Monet meets the Alpha of a neighboring pack? Will he accept her for what she is? ~CONTENT WARNING~ This book contains depictions of physical abuse, foul language, and upsetting scenary. "Who's out there?" One of the men yelled. Of course only silence met them. I remained quiet and waited for the group to start moving again. "Maybe it was just an animal." Someone whispered. The person, who I assumed was the captain of the small squad, signaled for them to walk again. They clearly showed fear as they kept going; brandishing their weapons to guard themselves with. "Two are holding lanterns. I'll tell you when you're too close to them." I heard my friend whisper in my ear. I followed the men as I picked up another branch and waited for the right time to break it. They continued to walk through the forest, turning their heads in every direction as if an animal might lunge at them and rip their throats out. I guess in a way I was going to do that. "Go back a few feet." My friend whispered. I carefully distanced myself from the group and waited. "Where is she?" I quickly snapped the stick as soon as he finished asking the question. They stopped and two soldiers raised their lanterns to shine its light in the darkness. I quickly hid behind a tree before both of them turned where I was. A low frustrated growl came from one of the men, "The girl's playing with us. She's out here following our every move." How paranoia can cloud the mind. At nine years old, Silver decided to leave her village for the forest. Since then, she's been hunted; everyday is a fight for her life, every breath she takes could be her last, but she's determined to stay alive. Her life isn't the kind anyone would want to live but she's managed to survive this long so, what's a few more years?

But to my surprise, the car swerves to the side slightly next to me and comes to a stop. I take a deep breath I didn't know I was holding at the driver's side door swings open and a very pissed off Axel steps out. "Thank god," I mumble and place my hands on my knees to catch my breath. "Blaze?" He says and I hate it. I hate how he says my name as if it's his. Like he knows it's the only thing I want to hear, him calling out to me, looking at me, focused to me. It's the first time in my life I wanted someone's attention so badly I didn't care how I got it. And that was too dangerous for me to hold onto. "Are you insane or some shit? I could have killed you!" He says and starts to walk towards me. I take a big breath and step back away from him, "s-stop! Axel," I stutter still panting. It's then he notices the blood on my hands and shirt. "Is that blood?" He asks staring at my shirt and I take another step back. "Stop, stay b-back," I try to say confidently but I can't even breath right. Realizing he won't listen I start to turn around planning to make a break for it. "Don't run from me Blaze it won't go well," he growls reading my thoughts causing me to freeze in my spot. "Do not ever think you can get away from me."

"Stop messing with me." He threatened through his teeth, his breathing as erratic as mine. I let out a stifled laugh. "Or else?" He inhaled deep through his nose, poked the inside of his cheek, as if he was trying to make a tough decision, all the while keeping such an intense stare on my eyes, it was almost uncomfortable. "I won, so you stop." James' mouth was so close, I could feel his words in mine. "Think again, Jamesie." I raised my left hand to his throat, holding the same dagger I had knocked out of his hand before. In the middle of all the rolling around, I'd managed to catch it. A strike of luck, really. James grunted a labored sigh and inched even further towards me. "You're fucking impossible..." His eyes flicked over to my lips. I felt my stomach tingle. "You're heavy." I complained, my voice a little more than a rasp. His index finger grazed on my jaw. "You can take it." [---] My life was perfectly fine. Adoptive daughter of a millionaire, unofficial leader of a team of private security, friend to many unstable, skilled fighters, free as a little bird to do whatever I wanted - as long as I kept it out of the media's scent. Then along came James Fucking Blackwell to ruin everything. Just because I happened to rescue him during my time as an asset for the US Army, the damn asshole convinced himself I was some sort of angel and wouldn't leave me alone. I hated him. Kinda. "You thought you could threaten her? That you could hurt her, violate her the way that you did and walk away alive?" His voice was filled with raw fury, each word like a blow. "Please," the Sower gasped, his eyes darting to the ghastly charred remains of his men. "I- We didn't mean-" Thane didn't let him finish. With a surge of heat, the flames flared from his body, engulfing the man in a swirling inferno. The Sower screamed, his cries echoing through the clearing as the fire consumed him, but it didn't end his life-not yet. Thane controlled the flames, letting them torture rather than kill, a terrifying display of his power and restraint. "Didn't mean to?" Thane echoed mockingly, leaning down so his face was inches from the Sower. His eyes burned with rage, dark and unrelenting. "You meant every word, every threat, every action. And now you'll burn for it." ******************** In a world torn by war, where men and women are divided into separate kingdoms, Fern, a healer and herbalist, sets out to end the decade-long conflict. AN: This story will have mature themes and may be triggering, ie: smut, violence, etc. She always enjoyed her weekly walk through the park, no matter the time of year. It made her happy that the cold weather tended to make the park less crowded than usual as she continued to walk her favorite path that would lead her to a large empty field of grass that held her favorite shade tree. When she got there Emily's brown eyes lit up at the blanket of snow that sparkled and shimmered on the ground, untouched by others trampling through it. When she eyed her spot under her tree, she made her way to it and cleared a space from the snow, so she could sit on the ground comfortably. Once Emily was curled up on the ground against the side of the tree, she pulled a book from her knapsack and began to read. There's nothing like spending the first couple of hours reading under my tree after a whole week at work. Emily got lost in the pages of her book until she noticed she kept sniffling from the cold and was wiping her nose against her heavy coat, which made her loop up to see the sky had turned to twilight. "Shit!" She growled as she bookmarked the page she left off from and stiffly stood as she shoved the book into her bag. "Davis is going to wonder where the hell I am." She made her way back to the path when a flash of white light made her shield her eyes. "What the hell was that?" She looked around, blinking black spots from her vision when she noticed there was a huge circle in the field that was now completely free of snow and in the center of it, lay a man wearing green and gold. The Hourglass

14 parts Complete

She fought, but in the end her heart won out and because she could not kill him, she simply trapped him. Forever. ____________________________________ I ran through the woods. The trees seemed to bend towards me. The farther I went, the darker the world seemed to get. The color also seemed to dim as I ran. But I didn't pay much attention to that. I finally came to a large clearing, near the center was an hourglass, it was made out of diamond. I walked up to it. It was so thick I could barley see inside, although I did see something inside. I reached out and touched the diamond, it seemed to melt away leaving glass. I then spotted a man about my age throwing fire at the walls. I screamed. Then I woke up. It was just a dream, right?
