Jenny feels as if she can finally take a breath now that she's made it to Florida, leaving all of her horrors back in Indiana. She's trying to make peace with her reality when she meets a strange man deserted on the beach. He's sad and lonely and Jenny knows exactly how he feels, it's the first connection she makes since she left home and it's just what she needs.

It's exactly what the Doctor needs, too. Throughout their trips they learn and help each other through their turmoil and realize that being alone for too long isn't exactly the best remedy for broken hearts.
