Nylah Marie Banks was (basically) like your average 12 year old. She loved to swim and tumble and paint, like a lot of girls her age, but dancing was her life. She spent all her alone time dancing, and even taught herself ballet, tap, hip hop, jazz, and contemporary. She has so many talents and abilities that are dying to come out. If only she could speak. Now this isn't to say she CAN'T speak, she is perfectly healthy and could if she needed to. But she hasn't needed to, since the accident. Since she never spoke, no one bothered her and no one talked to her, and she loved it that way. Most kids would love to get a new family. Maybe get rid of your bossy mom, or annoying siblings, or even your sinister cat. Nylah would love to have a bossy mom, and annoying siblings, and even a grumpy cat. But she can't, because ever since the accident no one has loved her. She has been in and out of foster homes faster than most kids her age. But she wasn't a bad kid. In fact, she was a terrific student, a kindhearted soul, and a generous, but curious girl. It was just that she couldnt, excuse me, wouldn't speak. Apparently, that was an important factor when it comes to adoption. So when Nylah finds a family who actually seems to love and care for her, she is hesitant, even if they are the 'famous' Lynch family. The Lynch's help Nylah through the ups and downs of life, but their love is truly tested in action when a piece of her past comes back to haunt her. How can Nylah help the Lynch's help her, when she won't even talk? And will Nylah finally find the meaning of unconditional love? This story is for anyone who has ever felt unloved. It takes an interesting spin on the classic tale of Annie, with the help of R5 of course. Note that this is not a love story. Nylah does not fall in love with any of the Lynch boys. But this is rather a story about love, that just happens to include R5.
