LaMelo Ball, the 15 year old sophomore basketball star of Chino Hills High School that everyone admires and loves. Every girl wants him, and every boy wants to be him. As he is the most popular guy there, he also has a very bright future ahead of him, considering that he already has a full ride scholarship at UCLA.

Kanani "Kai" Honua was new to Chino Hills, but she was very familiar with the game of basketball. Basketball was her passion, and she was a natural-born future star. She at first has trouble adjusting to her new school, but she still has her determination to accomplish her dreams and to get through her sophomore year.

One night, LaMelo clashes with Kai at a friend's party, and he is almost instantly lovestrucken by her. He found everything perfect about her, and soon became infatuated with her, but she found it kind of surreal that LaMelo Ball, the MOST popular and important guy at Chino Hills High School, was interested in a girl like her...

"You go first. Check." He bounced the ball to me. I glared at him as hot tears streamed down my face while he still held his serious face.

"I'm not about to play you for my feelings, Melo! That's not how this works!" I raised my voice a little.

He sighed. "If you lose, I stay."

I took a deep breath as my anger built up a little more. "What happens when I win?"

He took a step closer to me. "IF you win,

then I'll go."
