"Did you just bite me?" Landon exclaims in disbelief.

"I told you to keep your hands off of me," I snap back, wiping my mouth, "and for the record you taste disgusting."

He looks up from cradling his bitten hand and gives me a look of complete resentment. Feeling smug, I stick my tongue out at him, pushing him right over the edge. He takes a step towards me, his face furious.

"If Boss wasn't so adamant on keeping you in one piece, I'd rip your tongue out and hang it on the wall, you pain in the a-"

Landon's snarls are cut off by the sound of the door being slammed shut from behind him. Boss walks in, his footsteps loud and echoey in the empty room.

"-assets, meaning very important things, that's what you are." 

Landon finishes, going even as far as to pat me gently on the head and pinch my cheek.

Bosses big presence fills the room. He clears his throat intentionally loudly and Landon turns to face him as if he just noticed him here.

"Oh, hey Sir, I didn't see you there."

Annoyed by her best guy friend she accepted going to a party with him which leads her into a messy scene that almost causes her life. But what happens when a boy saves her?
