This book is a series of vignettes, diary entries, and short stories that are, to my knowledge, completely true accounts of my life. However, please keep in mind as you are reading that, as Tennessee Williams so thoughtfully states in The Glass Menagerie, "memory takes a lot of poetic license. It omits some details; others are exaggerated, according to the emotional value of the articles it touches, for memory is seated predominantly in the heart." With that being said, please be aware that these pages reflect my memory of the events of my life, and this is my side to the story. I fully recognize that there are other perspectives to my tale and encourage the other sides to be told. However, all I can do is tell what I know, what I felt, and how it changed me.
