Don't question this, I was up all night listening to scary stories and this hit me. Evangeline is an 8-year-old girl neglected by her parents and always being left to her own devices. The day after breaking her leg, her parents tell her they're going to be gone for two days and that she can take care of herself. After falling asleep early and having a particular dream, she wakes up to watch scary videos and finds an unexpected visitor in her house with no intention of leaving without her.

I don't care if people can see the blood I just want to get out. I race for the doors and shove through people. I earn a lot of glares and glances that read "weirdo." I ignore and push. I run to my house and lock myself in my bathroom. I don't bother closing the front door cause I don't care if people come in to kill me.
