Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791) was a prolific and influential composer of the Classical era. Born in Salzburg, he showed prodigious ability from his earliest childhood. Already competent on keyboard and violin, he composed from the age of five and performed before European royalty. During his final years in Vienna, he composed many of his best-known symphonies, concertos, and operas, and portions of the Requiem, which was largely unfinished at the time of his death.

In 1946 Vienna, where music conceals fresh societal tensions, virtuoso pianist Mariska Dornfeld plays a dangerous composition of survival. Each performance carries hidden melodies, each note a potential betrayal. When industrialist Konrad Stahlburg recognizes what lies beneath her classical facade, their connection ignites forces neither can control. Against the backdrop of post-war tensions and buried secrets, they discover that some songs demand blood for their playing - and the most dangerous notes are the ones that can't be unheard. A tale of music, power, and the price of truth in a city that prefers its lies wrapped in velvet.
